The game does conflate a couple of lines from the book, noteably an account from one of the captains of the Pelennor wall about the coming forces including 'bearded Easterlings with great axes' as well as the Variags of Khand, but the basic weapon of these guys is the axe and they have plenty of facial hair, unlike the actual Easterling list. Speaking of Khand, I should move on with things here. There should have been armies from Mordor, Harad (infantry and cavalry as well as mumakil) Rhun (the Easterlings) and Khand, with the defending force having more men from Dol Amroth and the fiefdoms than actually from Minas Tirith itself, and the fiefdoms were also mentioned and sorta shown in a one-off scene with Imrahil and the knights not being a thing at all. They showed, basically, orcs and the mumakil against the men of Gondor and Rohan. The movie has far fewer different forces on the Pelennor than there were in the books. ![]()
